With over 13,000 children in out-of-home care across Victoria, the need for safe and nurturing foster environments has never been greater. Victorian-based Aviso Integral, part of the Aviso Broking Group, is proud to continue its partnership with Meli's Foster A Future program, an initiative dedicated to providing stable homes for children in need.
This September, Meli runs its fifth annual Foster A Future Appeal, a month-long campaign to raise money to directly benefit children and young people in its foster care programs. As Platinum Sponsor of the kick-off Breakfast Event on September 5, Aviso Integral is helping to fund essential resources, such as more foster carers, as well as raising awareness and assisting existing carers so they can continue to provide support to kids currently in care in the Geelong and surrounding areas.
Sandra O’Loughlin, General Manager of Aviso Integral Insurance Services, said, “As a locally-based business, Aviso Integral's commitment to Meli is long-running and deeply personal.
My late sister was a foster co-ordinator with Meli, and several of our team have strong connections to foster care, including adopting children after serving as foster carers.”
Funding for a $15,000 donation came from personal donations from Aviso Integral employees, coupled with a grant from the newly created ACT Australia. The ACT Fund exists to support fundraising and giving to Australian causes, furthering The Ardonagh Charitable Trust’s (ACT) mission to enable global employees of the Ardonagh Group to support charitable initiatives in the communities in which they live and work.
A team from Aviso Integral attended The Foster A Future Breakfast on September 5th at GMHBA Stadium, featuring keynote speaker Kate Langbroek and hosted by Myf Warhurst. Each year the team supports a number of additional initiatives in support of Meli from wrapping Christmas presents to fundraising at local events and plan to continue their involvement for years to come.
