Ardonagh Community Trust (ACT), the charitable arm of the global insurance distribution platform The Ardonagh Group, today launches its 2025 Bright Future Prize and encourages young people from Australia to apply.
The Ardonagh Group is the parent company of The Envest Group and through its global network, ACT is able to boost the charitable endeavours of colleagues to make a difference to communities around the world.
Bright Future Prize is a unique opportunity for young people with inspiring ideas to create positive change. Entries are open to applicants aged 15-21 who are eager to turn their ideas into impactful projects benefiting their communities and beyond. In 2024 Chloe McCormick from Victoria, Australia, was the winner of the ‘Your Planet’ category.
Chloe has two passions, coding and taking action against climate change, both of which she's combined through her own initiative, Code<Green/>. This involves workshops for children aged 7–13 to teach them about climate change concepts and solutions through the power of coding. To date, Chloe has taught 650+ students in and around Melbourne and has 37+ volunteers supporting the delivery of workshop sessions.
Chloe commented: “My mission is to empower other young people to become climate champions. Applying for the Bright Future Prize, I hoped that ACT could help me continue my project and take it further. Whilst I knew my chances were slim, I still took the plunge and applied. I am so glad I took the opportunity. Thanks to the funding from ACT and working closely with The Envest Group, I was able to take the project to a whole new level”.
ACT Trustee and The Envest Group’s Chairman, Paul Lynam, added: “Being a Trustee of ACT involved being part of the rigorous process of selecting a winner for The Bright Future Prize and I feel incredibly proud to have seen our very first Australian winner in 2024. I had the privilege to meet with Chloe earlier in the year and was so inspired by her tenacity and passion for her project. The Envest Group has been working closely with her to help her deliver Code<Green/> which included a donation of some technology and connecting her with our partners. As we embark on a journey to find the next cohort of Bright Future stars of 2025, I would love to see another Aussie winner and so would encourage anyone who has an idea to make a difference to apply”.
The 2025 Bright Future Prize will award funding across four categories:
- Your Community: Projects addressing societal issues, education, health, or wellbeing within local communities.
- Your Planet: Environment-focused initiatives that tackle climate change, promote sustainable living, or enhance green spaces.
- Your Vision: Technology and entrepreneurship-driven ideas designed to foster positive change.
- Your Passion: Projects that improve access to sports, arts, and other passions, promoting inclusivity and outreach.
Applications are open from Wednesday 4 December to Friday 20 December and can be submitted by individuals or groups from any country where The Ardonagh Group operates, including the UK, Ireland, Australia, South Africa, Brazil, and several European countries. The winners of the four categories will share the £40,000 prize fund. To apply, participants must complete an online application form on the ACT website.
